Opening Post

Most things in life are neutral. Though peoples in various cultures assign connotations to things, those things in and of themselves have no morality attached to them. What gives things their connotations are the ways in which they are used. Money, for instance, has been used in every manner of corruption man has thought up. It has suppressed political opposition, gained favors, driven armed conflict, and pinned the majority of the world's population in hopelessness. The treachery of money is inherent in every kind of evil known to man.

Yet money is not bad. Money is actually the precursor of much good. Aid to victims of natural disasters, support from a father to his family, efforts to help those in the developing world, and education are all possible because of money. Money can be maligning or exemplary. People make the difference.

I feel the internet is the same way. The internet is a harbinger of information, media, and communication. My conviction is that the internet can be an influence like money. Depending on how people use it, the internet can be good or bad. Think of this blog as an attempt to use the internet to bring about good.
